This lecture will focus upon the Constitutional basis for the Miranda v. Arizona decision, the effect of various interrogation techniques upon the waiver of Miranda rights, the voluntariness of any custodial statement, and recent developments in cognitive science bearing upon a juvenile’s waiver of those rights and the voluntariness of their statements.
